حمّل وزير الخارجية الإيراني محمد جواد ظريف من وصفهم برعاة الإرهاب في المنطقة وأسيادهم الأميركيين المسؤولية عن الهجوم الذي استهدف عرضا عسكريا في الأحواز، متهما «عملاء نظام أجنبي» بشن الهجوم.
